[1] This is an appeal filed by N. Annandurai a/l Narayanasamy, the Respondent Husband (RH) against my decision dated 20.1.2025 made in open Court on the hearing of the Amended Divorce Petition filed by the Petitioner Wife (PW) on 18.4.2024. [2] This decision is the culmination of 6 court appointed dates whereby parties appeared and a number of mediation sessions were attempted to resolve the impasse between the parties. [3] On the final date nine months after the filing of the Divorce Petition, i.e. on 20.1.2025, the petition was called up in open court, the RH admitted that he had not appointed any lawyer to represent him nor had he filed any Reply and/or Cross Petition to the PW’s Amended Divorce Petition as directed. [4] The Court proceeded to hear the matter summarily and allowed order in terms of the reliefs claimed in Paragraph 5 of the Amended Divorce Petition.
