This is an application for a stay of execution of sentence from a decision of the Sessions Court Petaling Jaya where the accused was found guilty after a full trial for a charge under section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001 Act 611. The accused’s husband who was also charged together with her was acquitted at the end of the prosecution case. Her application for a stay was heard before me and after carefully considering the matter I dismissed the application as I found no special circumstances to justify a stay.
